Matthew “Matt” Brunstrum is a Chicago-based executive who leads Lakeside Acquisitions as founder and CEO. In this capacity, he facilitates sales of privately held businesses, primarily in the waste and recycling sector. He engages closely with company owners, buyers, accountants, attorneys, and wealth managers in designing efficient transactions that maximize client value. Drawing on a past position as director of mergers and acquisitions with a publicly traded waste management enterprise with a $6 billion market cap, Matthew Brunstrum has developed proprietary processes and a wide ranging professional network.

In one representative 2024 deal, Matt Brunstrum helped broker the sale of Waste Control, Inc., to Certified Waste Solutions. This deal involved a family-owned Southern California company specialized in waste optimization, brokerage, and management. Taking on a role as a mergers and acquisition advisor, he facilitated negotiations between the two parties and achieved an agreement that significantly expanded Certified Waste Solutions’ regional profile.

Mr. Brunstrum is an Indiana University graduate who earned his BS in business. He has past experience as a mergers and acquisitions senior advisor at a Chicago-based boutique advisory firm and has arranged more than 100 high-profile transactions across the Midwest.
